The cost
Two hours of hands-on baking in a small group, with everything found: ingredients, equipment, aprons, and what they make to take home. There is nothing to send along and nothing extra to buy.
We just ran this
Our spring holiday workshop ran across five days at Helensvale with 27 children from 18 families — cookies, muffins, donuts, cream cake and bread, a different bake each day.
Bookings kept coming right through the week, and we had to close one day early because it was full. Families who booked late took the days that were left rather than the days they wanted. That is the whole reason this list exists.
The Christmas holidays are longer and busier, so we expect the same again. People on the list get the dates first and pick their days first.
The baking
Each day stands on its own, so a child can come for one day or the whole week and still finish something they are proud of. These are the sessions we run — the Christmas line-up is set once the dates are.
Where everyone starts — measuring, mixing, and the first tray out of the oven.
Folding, portioning and the patience to leave them alone while they rise.
The one they talk about afterwards. Shaping, filling and finishing their own.
Layering, cream and decorating — the session parents like to stay for.
Kneading by hand, waiting for the dough, and a loaf they made from scratch.
Something for the table at home — gingerbread, shortbread and decorating.
What you get
Why a whole week
A one-off class is fun. Several days is where a child stops needing to be told every step and starts working it out for themselves.
By the end they have measured, mixed, waited, cleaned up and served something to someone else — over and over. That is what turns a holiday activity into a skill they keep.
The workshop is open to every child. We are a registered NDIS provider, so if your child needs extra support to take part, tell us on the form and we will plan for it.
Ready to book?
Each class takes 10 children and closes the moment it is full. Booking takes a couple of minutes and your child's place is confirmed as soon as payment goes through.
Got a question first? Send it below and we will come back to you, usually within one business day.
Ask us anything about the workshop — allergies, support needs, whether a particular class still has room.
